Welcome! My original idea with this site was to develop it around one Parish. Out of this idea has grown a site with thousands of transcribed records, although I am still trying to develop it around three different areas, they being the 16 Parishes in the South East Corner of Somerset, the adjoining Parishes on the Blackmore Vale in Dorset and the Meneage Area in Cornwall. Involvement in other Somerset projects and also the Online Parish Clerk (OPC) project for Cornwall, has also seen a seperate section for other Somerset Records as well as two OPC pages for Gwinear and Mawgan in Meneage. Also hosted on this site are two pages on behalf of the Somerset Record Society and the, Somerset and Dorset Notes & Queries, both organisations are run by volunteers and there survival is dependant on members contributions to cover publishing costs. Please see each page for more information on becoming a member. Many of the records and data now on these pages have been contributed by other researchers who have willingly given up there free time to transcribe records so that they can be freely shared with everyone. My thanks goes to all these people and if you have any transcribed records, especially for the 3 areas mentioned above, then I would be happy to add them to this site. Thank you for your visit, and please do check back as I try and update the site regularly. The "What's New" page will show any additions/changes and a "News" page will occasionally appear for any major developments on the site. Links
