I am very proud to have found a Tasmanian convict originally from Wincanton, in my family tree!
Her name is Elizabeth CROSS b c 1822 Wincanton, Somersetshire.
Most of her details I found on her Tasmanian convict records;

Parents: Martin CROSS (Silversmith/Clockmaker) and Elizabeth HULL
Siblings: John, William, James(?), Eliza and Anne(?)
Religion: C of E
Date of Trial: Aug 6th 1842
Place of Trial: Somerset County Assizes
Last Abode: Rimpton
Sentence: 7 years Tasmania
Crime: Stealing a gold ring and other items from John LOCKYER (her employer?)
Ship: Garland Grove 2
Occupation: Servant
Single at the time of transportation.
